I

know we are only in week 5 of the One Room Challenge, but I mean, with the paint done - Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze for the win - and the hardware on it's feeling like we are REALLY close... like week 6 or 7 close. Maybe it's because in past ORCs I've fully dragged my feet the first few weeks and actually have it together this time around (shockingly!).

Hardware Makes The Built-Ins

So while the urbane bronze paint looks dang good in this room, the hardware totally completed the built-in’s and make them look extra good. I went with a range of styles, but I couldn’t go with too big of a range because I was having some serious issues matching the colour of the hardware pieces. I didn’t want to spend a ton so I spent hours scouring Amazon to find the right colour and the right style. Finally, the searching paid off.

How I’m Feeling About the Urbane Bronze Paint

Remember last week’s debate about the paint and how much paint should be spread around this room? As in, how about the ceilings, what about the doors? And I was so stubborn and decided it was all getting painted urbane bronze?! Well, when the space was first done being painted, I was uncertain of my decision. However, now that there is furniture in here and some contrasting colours, I am feeling pretty darn great about my decision! I’m fully in love with the room and how it’s coming together. Moody and all!

Next Steps

Now that the paint is done, we are working on finalizing details. Bedding for the murphy bed, decor for the desk, art on the walls, curtains up – you know, those things that will really pull this space together into one cohesive space. I’m really excited to piece together the final items that will fully tie this room together! So dang excited!!

To recap again:

And don’t forget to check out the rest of the exciting spaces from this week on the ORC Blog
