The Trash and Recycling Bin That Actually Makes Trash Aesthetic

never thought I'd be the person who gets excited about trash and recycling bins and yet... here we are. In fairness, look at them. If trash and recycling bins were to be show-stopping, they would in fact be designed exactly like this. Needless to say, Caraway has knocked these bins out of the park - from an aesthetic standpoint, anyways.
First, Let’s Talk About the Looks of Trash and Recycling Bin
Here’s the thing nobody talks about: your trash and recycling bins are some of the most-used items in your entire home. You walk past it a hundred times a day. Your kids touch it. Your guests need to use it. And sure, most of us try to hide it away under the sink, until the size just doesn’t work and you realize they’re living in the open, whether you like it or not. But, if they are visible, they better be pretty, and these ones from Caraway are. Plus, there were so many colour options to choose from to fit any aesthetic. The extra bonus here is how hard it is to actually get visible fingerprints on them. Trust me, my kids have extensively tested this for you. Whatever anti-fingerprint technology they are using is working.
The Functionality of The Trash and Recycling Bins
The exterior drew me in. The functionality is what made me genuinely obsessed.
The inner bins fully come out. The recycling side just slides right out. For the garbage side, you press the foot pedal, the lid opens, and the entire bin lifts right out. It’s one of those features that sounds small until you use it, and then you cannot believe every trash can hasn’t done this forever.
And because the surface is completely smooth — no ridges, no grooves, no texture for grime to settle into — cleaning them takes about ten seconds. Wipe and done. As someone who has two kids and has seen some things, I am not overstating how much this matters.
Of course, size – you have a few options: there’s a silm trash can, and a regular trash can. The slim is – you guessed it, silmmer but deeper where as the regular is not as deep but is wider. Both of these hold 45L and can fit a ton. No more multiple trips a day to the garbage can or recycling bin.
These Trash and Recycling Bins Are Coming To The Cabin
I am super lucky to have space in our home for a full pull-out trash system, which is why this is coming up to our cabin. Cabinet space and under-the-sink storage are at a premium. We’ve been leaving the recycling outside for years because I haven’t had a good solution. The garbage bin we’ve had living out in the open has never looked right and always gets SO dirty.
Enter the Trash & Recycling Duo. One bin for trash, one for recycling, side by side, matching perfectly. Suddenly, there’s an actual system. It looks intentional. It feels good. And it doesn’t feel out of place because this navy is giving nautical vibes, which is the perfect compliment.
You can get the duo in a slim or rectangular version, depending on your space. We’re going Slim because cabin corners are tight; it is genuinely the best solution I’ve found for a problem I’ve had for years.
The Caraway Way
I was drawn to Caraway for the aesthetic and stayed for everything else. Their quality is always unmatched, and the care they put into their products is clear. That’s no different when it comes to the trash and recycling bins. The way the bins come out. How easy they are to clean. The size that actually works for a real family. The fingerprints that somehow just… don’t stick. It’s the whole package.
I always say a home that feels beautiful isn’t about the big-ticket pieces — it’s about caring about every corner, even the ones you’d normally overlook. Including where you keep your trash. Let’s make it pretty, okay?!
