calming nursery reveal - part of the dresser and mirror. All in small spaces
A

dmittedly this is now one of my absolute favourite rooms in our home. If you've been here a while, you know that I gave up my home office space to make this room come together. It was HARD. Most of you amazing readers are here today because of that room. But, now that the calming nursery reveal is here - it's even better than I could have imagined. Now if only this baby would arrive.

Calming Nursery Reveal + Saving Money

In the spirit of things changing rather quickly – as we know from the home office’s two year stint, or Sloane’s nursery quickly transforming into a big girl’s room – we tried to keep things to a minimal here and reuse what we could. We had Sloane’s crib from her nursery which now gets a second life. Similarly, my office rug and light were also incorporated into the design.

The Nursery Splurge

So when it comes to something you’re going to be spending a boat load of time in, like sitting in, a lot, comfort is key. For McGregor and I anyways comfort in this scenario takes priority. So for this nursery reveal we decided to spend a pretty penny on a nice comfortable reclining chair. We did opt for some savings and went with an in-stock colour ($500 is $500 baby!!) and I’ve tried to warm it up here with some brown tones that go with the room. While we are talking splurges, I also went for it on the light fixture. There isn’t a ton of space in this room so having a built-in little side table was genius to me!

The Crib and Extras

The crib area with the clouds might be my favourite. These clouds are a DIY that is coming soon to the blog (I’ll link when it’s posted!) and they were so easy and affordable to make. For those concerned about them falling, SIDs, etc. Rest assured that when the baby actually sleeps here, they will be removed along with pillows blankets, etc. Anyways, the point being, although we used Sloane’s old crib which isn’t as much my style anymore, I used some linen sheets and this cute scalloped crib skirt to jeush it up and tie it into the space.

There we go. Now we just need this little monkey to make her grand entry to the world!!
