Builder Grade Bathroom Update

Remember earlier this month? Sloane’s bathroom update was just a vision (check out this post if you’re lost). Well, now, this builder-grade bathroom upgrade has fully come to life, and I’m so proud of how it’s turned out. Initially, I was thinking the modern vanity would bother me with the beadboard but it doesn’t feel as mismatched as I thought it would. Eventually I may look to update the doors and make it fully suit the space but for now, I’m admiring the changes I’ve made in here so far.

Easy Changes You Can Make to Update Your Builder Grade Bathroom

First things first for your builder-grade bathroom update: remove the mirror and replace it with something more unique (like this). It’ll immediately take your bathroom from meh to WOW. If you’re only doing one thing in your space, make this it. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to remove your builder-grade mirror.

If you’re doing two things, I would suggest swapping out your sconces (I got these). Mine were actually the worst (IMO). These two things alone would have totally transformed the space but I obviously had to take it a few steps further.

A third easy change you can make is swapping out the hardware – the towel bars, toilet paper holder, etc. This time around I opted for hooks for the towels and hand towel. I love the clean look it gives. I also feel like towels will dry better this way but perhaps that’s just me being optimistic.

My Favourite Changes in This Builder Grade Bathroom

While I absolutely adore the changes I noted above, my favourite bathroom update has to be the changes the beadboard and paint made in this space. I won’t lie, I got the beadboard in it’s natural state and I wondered if I had made a mistake. I did the first coat of primer and thought, ok, it’s getting better. But once I added this beautiful creamy white – Western White from Home Hardware, I knew it was going to be perfect.
