O

f all the seasons, spring has always been my least favourite. The unpredictability of the weather, the sudden downpours, and the persistent allergies have never failed to dampen my spirits. When spring arrives, I'm always on the lookout for summer. Luckily, on the West Coast where I live, it's common to have a hint of spring for a week or two. Quickly after that, the jump to summer is made (I know it's global warming, but that's a discussion for another day). I'm sharing one way I make it through spring; with spring florals. Florals for spring?! Groundbreaking, I know!

My Reality with Spring Florals

There’s something undeniably uplifting about having fresh flowers brightening up your living spaces. Of course, I understand that not everyone enjoys the scent of fresh flowers. While I love the scent of fresh flowers, I cannot stand the smell that occurs the second they start wilting. Do not even get me started on the feeling of their mushy stems. It’s a hard no for me. That’s where faux florals come in. While some may turn up their noses at the idea, I’ve come to embrace them wholeheartedly. Not only do they require zero maintenance, but they also look incredibly realistic nowadays. With advancements in technology, faux florals can mimic the beauty of real flowers without any drawbacks. Did I mention they’ll last forever?!

My Favourite Faux Floral Stems

There are so many beautiful flowers to choose from for spring. Among my favourites are peonies, lilacs, and cherry blossoms. Their vibrant colours and delicate blooms instantly infuse a sense of joy and renewal into any room. Whether arranged in a vase on the dining table or displayed in a vessel in the living room, these faux spring floral stems never fail to spark joy. This year, the stems I’ve managed to snag are stunningly beautiful. . The cherry blossoms from Michaels are the perfect addition and they often have to buy one get one 50% off. The chrysanthemums are from Target and are a wicked good deal for the quality. Finally, the lilacs were my splurge from Pottery Barn. I love the look of lilacs and I can rarely find them at the flower store. So faux for the win.

By the way, when I popped into Pottery Barn they had an amazing array of faux flowers, all of which looked stunningly realistic. Another favourite place I like to snag my faux spring florals from is Afloral.
