very week, I've been throwing out one blog post option to my Instagram community to pick a blog post they want to see a topic on. This week, I selected bringing life into older spaces but wanted to broaden it slightly to any space. It would be tricky for you to be entirely like me and constantly updating things around the home. First of all, it adds up incredibly quickly, and second of all, where do you store what you're not using? Nevertheless, bringing a little life into your spaces whether it be an older or newer space is something you will probably feel compelled to do on occasion. Luckily I'm here to help you keep your living space fresh and inviting. Whether you're looking to shake things up for the new season or simply craving a change, updating your home decor doesn't have to be a daunting task that includes a storage problem. In fact, with a few simple tweaks, you can breathe new life into your space in no time.
Easiest Decor Update: Swap Out Pillows and Throws
One of the quickest and most cost-effective ways to update your home decor is by changing up your throw pillows and blankets. These accessories not only add comfort to your space but also serve as stylish accents. Consider swapping out your current pillows and throws for ones with different colours, textures, or patterns to instantly refresh the look of your sofa or bed. If you’re short on space, you could even get quality pillow inserts and just swap out pillow covers. If you’re feeling even sneakier, you can hide your pillowcovers underneath the new ones. Not saying I’ve done it, but it is genius and space-saving.

Updating Your Decor Through Greenery and Florals
The easiest way to breathe new life into a space is to bring the outdoors in. That could mean new plants, cut branches, fresh or faux flowers – anything goes. Most of my plants are faux thanks to my black thumb but I find they still bring a a sense of tranquillity to my environment. I also swap out my florals seasonally. Right now the spring florals are fully brightening up our home while we wait for warmer, sunnier weather. I have a full post on my favourites here.
Remember, updating your home decor is about expressing your style and creating a space that feels comfortable and inspiring. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colours, textures, and arrangements until you find what resonates with you. I’m a big fan of buying and returning. You may not get it right on the first try but don’t settle. You want your mini transformations to become a reflection of your unique personality and lifestyle.
