My First Impressions of Caraway’s Enamel Cast Iron
We know I’m a Caraway queen. I have reviewed several of their products (stainless steel and the ceramic non-stick cookware set, just to name a few – but you can see everything Caraway related on this blog here), and I now house basically everything Caraway that I can. However, before the release of their enamel cast iron, I still had one other, well-known, and prestigious enamel cast iron brand in my kitchen. Now, in fairness, I have been using this other brand for decades and have only tested out Caraway’s cast iron for a few weeks. However, there are a few things I can tell you:
- They cook incredibly similarly (both have similar, nice even heat distribution)
- They wash similarly (no seasoning required, wash with soap and water once cooled)
- They make cooking a breeze (easy transfer from stove to oven)
- I think Caraway’s aesthetic is a bit more modern and versatile (the lids fit ALL of their cast iron products, and while the look is still timeless, it has a little modern update).
Cast Iron for a Lifetime
Had the Cast Iron set been around when my husband and I got married, these would have been high up on our wish list. I’m feeling pretty lucky to have them now. I take pride in how well I take care of my things, and something meant to last a lifetime will be taken care of with extra caution (this ADHD’er read the instruction manual so I know I’ll be caring for the cast iron right *pats self on back!*). The new Caraway Enamel Cast Iron will one thousand percent be passed down to my girls when they are older and will remain as beautiful (vintage OH JEEZE) heirlooms in their kitchens.
